Departure Provision
The Departure Provision states that an appraiser may enter into an agreement tp perform an assignment that calls for something less than, or different from, the work that would otherwise be required by the specific guidelines, provided that prior to entering into such an agreement;
- the appraiser has determined that the service to be performed is not so limited in scope that the resulting assignment would tend to mislead or confuse the client and the intended users of the report;
- the appraiser has advised the client that the assignment calls for something less than, or different from, the work required by the specific guidelines and that the report will identify and explain the departure(s); and
- the client has agreed that performance of a limited appraisal or consulting service would be appropriate.
